You've been living in a cave and have no knowlege about the winter storms which ripped through the Puget Sound over the last few weeks/month. That's okay. As a programmer, I can understand how that happens...
The first rip-snorter that came through did a decent amount of damage, to my personal consternation. We took a direct lightning hit at the Cosmopolis site that managed to melt a GR-1225 machine into a lump of aluminum... If that wasn't enough, the storm on Friday, 12/15/2006 came through and took out power to the hill. At least we didn't hose a repeater this time! While I was privileged enough to be driving from Seattle back to the harbor during the height of the 12/15 storm, the remainder of the club was all snuggled in their beds. A few lost power which lasted a day, and that was the end of that! No roofs blown down the street, no flying monkeys stuck in the radiator. It was quite a treat, however... |
